Free Patent Filing Assistance in Arkansas

If you have a patent application and need assistance with filing it, there are several resources available to you in Arkansas. Some of these resources include the University of Arkansas, the Technology Commercialization Office, and the Saint Louis University Patent Pro Bono Program. You can also contact local attorneys to see if they can help you.

University of Arkansas

The University of Arkansas has a licensing program in place that protects its trademarks. This partnership helps preserve the university’s intellectual property and establishes a successful relationship with licensees. The university works with The Collegiate Licensing Company, which serves as its exclusive trademark-licensing representative. University trademarks include a logo and wordmark. A logo is an essential identifier of an organization, helping to communicate its brand. A wordmark is a distinctive typographic treatment of a name.

The University of Arkansas’ trademarks are used to represent the institution’s purpose, values, and programs. The university also owns a variety of other insignias, seals, and designs. These include the WOOO PIG SOOIE, Never Yield, and the Old Main silhouette. In addition to the trademarks, the university has also developed trademark policies.

Saint Louis University

The Saint Louis University Law School has partnered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to provide free patent filing assistance to financially under-resourced inventors. The program offers free patent attorney and patent agent time to assist with the filing of patent applications, along with other resources. In addition, it provides entrepreneurial support and commercialization guidance to inventors and small businesses. It also advocates for civil rights, particularly equality before the law for LGBT individuals.

The Patent Pro Bono Program matches volunteer patent professionals with low-income inventors and small businesses. To qualify, applicants must have a household income that does not exceed three times the federal poverty level. In some regions, the eligibility criteria may differ. To learn more about eligibility requirements, visit the USPTO website.

Saint Louis University’s Technology Commercialization Office

The Technology Commercialization Office of Saint Louis University offers free patent filing assistance to local innovators and businesses. The program matches under-resourced inventors with patent attorneys and agents who will give them free time to develop their business ideas. In addition, the program provides entrepreneurial support and commercialization guidance. The program serves Missouri small businesses, nonprofits, and solo inventors.

The office’s mission is to commercialize world-class research in order to advance the knowledge-based economy. It assists faculty and research scientists to protect and commercialize their intellectual property. The program is an extension of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and is free and confidential.

Applicants are required to meet certain qualifications before being considered for a free patent filing assistance program. The requirements vary by program. Eligibility includes income, knowledge, and invention. In order to qualify for a free patent filing assistance program, applicants must live in one or more states and earn less than three times the federal poverty guidelines. Other regional programs have different requirements for eligibility.

Saint Louis University’s Patent Pro Bono Program

The Patent Pro Bono Program matches volunteer patent professionals with under-resourced inventors and small businesses in need of assistance. Generally, applicants must be residents of one or more states and earn less than three times the federal poverty level to qualify. However, certain regional programs may have different criteria.

The program is free and meets every month. The USPTO website includes an interactive map that can be used to find patent assistance in your area. The program also provides links to other resources in the community. The Saint Louis University Patent Pro Bono Program is dedicated to helping those in need get their ideas protected.
